Place of Refuge Society (POR) is a Christian organization that provides transitional living for people recovering from alcohol and drug addictions. The mandate of POR is to provide a safe environment for people to become healthy, confident and drug-free and has been operating since August 1st, 2009. We are one of 4 churches that partner closely with POR.
Refugee Food Bank
Every Thursday morning we host a Refugee Food Bank in our basement. Not only are bags of groceries distributed, but we are also blessed by bread from COBS each week that we bag and distribute as well.
With the help of many volunteers, people are able to build relationships over coffee, tea, and baked goods, and have conversations on all kinds of topics. Once a month we also sit down together for a meal prepared by volunteers.
If you are interested in volunteering on Thursday mornings or helping out with bread pick up, please contact the church office.
Kingcrest international Neighbours
Kingcrest International Neighbours’ (KIN) mission is offering Christian-based support to refugees and newcomers to Canada through ESL classes, Meaning of Life classes and International Dinners. About 120 students and their family members were touched by KIN in 2013. We are pleased to work with Kingcrest as they reach out to newcomers here in Vancouver.

If your Bank Account is attached to your Paypal account, you can have the contribution taken directly from your account, or you can use any Credit Card you have attached to the account.
What if I don’t have a PayPal account?
You don’t need a paypal account to donate this way. You will simply be asked for your credit card information and address (for tax-receipt purposes). **Please do not use Credit Cards if you are not able to pay the balance on a monthly basis. We want to encourage good stewardship, and we do not feel that Credit Card debt is a good practice.
